It’s no secret that face tools are buzzy right now. From microcurrent rollers to cooling face globes and even at-home hair removal devices, high-tech gadgets are taking TikTok by storm—and making space for themselves outside the dermatologist’s office.

Though there are several worthy tools on the market, the latest to enter the scene deserves special attention. Therabody, the pioneer behind the cult-favorite percussive therapy devices, launched the TheraFace PRO. Designed as a facial health tool, the new gadget isn’t exactly a massage gun for your face (although that is one of the eight different treatments offered); this all-in-one tool features microcurrent toning, LED light therapy, percussive massage, and more.

The sleek design makes it foolproof to use: Each treatment has three settings, which are displayed on a tiny digital screen. The top button controls the speed of the brush head, while the bottom button changes the intensity of the other treatments. Plus, the attachments magnetically connect to the head. Even if you’re a device novice, you can find a modality for your skin among the eight attachments.

What Does the TheraFace PRO Do?

It starts with the first step in your routine: If you parted with cleansing brushes after your Clarisonic era, the TheraFace version is worth giving it another try. The silicone bristle brush uses vibrations instead of circularly rotating while cleansing for a deeper cleanse and less irritation.

Next up is microcurrent, which can do wonders for carving out the contours of the face, but can also be time consuming and require you to follow a specific pattern. The TheraFace attachment takes the guesswork out of this step, allowing you to freestyle the treatment while still guiding you (it beeps every 15 seconds to suggest it’s time to move to another area of the face). Like other microcurrent devices, this one has two prongs that conduct electric currents to stimulate the ATP that is helpful in producing collagen for a tightened and lifted effect.

The final step in the routine is the LED light treatment, which has red light to target fine lines and wrinkles, blue light for acne-prone skin, and infrared to firm and temporarily reduce pain. The best part? You can also pair the percussive attachments while using the red and infrared light attachments, so you can simultaneously treat the skin and reduce puffiness and tension in the face.

The three massage heads are meant to target specific areas: The cone shape is for around the eyes and nasolabial folds; the flat head helps with any tension in the face, chest, or neck; and the micro-point attachment works best to boost circulation on the cheeks, forehead, and other large areas of the face.

If you want even more treatment options, you can buy a set of cooling and heating attachments that come in a temperature-controlled bag. The hot ring heats up in seconds and is perfect for increasing blood flow and increasing absorption of skincare products. And with the cold ring, there’s no longer a need to put your tools in the freezer anymore to wake up in the morning: The metal stays cool and refreshing for several minutes.

Is It Worth It?

The price is steep ($399 for the device, cleansing brush, microcurrent attachment, LED rings, percussive tips, stand, charger, and case; $99 for the additional hot and cold rings), but you’re getting eight treatments in one. Many of these tools and treatments alone are upward of $200, so if you’re a fan of facial tools, it’s worth shelling out for this multifaceted device.
