However, there’s a little more to it that that as the trailer shows us footage of The Little Girl who, after meeting her eccentric, warm neighbour called The Aviator, is introduced to a magical world he discovered when he once met The Little Prince.

The film’s essentially about The Little Girl who is rebelling against her pushy mother’s who’s encouraging her to become a grown up but wishes to remain an inquisitive youngster; it’s also about how far someone can become engrossed in their own fantastical imagination.

What’s impressive about this is the noticeable blend of CGI animation and stop motion animation. There also appears to be - going on the footage, at least - moments of beautiful 2D hand-drawn artistry, so the mixture of approaches looks visually mouth-watering to say the least.

It’s the first ever animated adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s famed masterpiece from 1943 and stars a host of well-known voice talent.

Names include: Rachel McAdams as The Mother, Paul Rudd as Mr. Prince, Jeff Bridges as The Aviator, and Mackenzie Foy as The Little Girl. Other roles are assumed by James Franco, Marin Cotillard, Benicio Del Toro, Albert Brooks, Paul Giamatti, and Ricky Gervais.

There’s no firm release date for ‘The Little Prince’ just yet, but it’s slated for some time this year in both the UK and the US.
