In 2019, it was reported that the upcoming Studio Ghibli theme park, which will be located in Aichi Expo Memorial Park to the east of Nagoya city in Japan, has five areas planned: Dondoko Forest, Ghibli’s Giant Warehouse, Youth Hill, Mononoke Village, and Witch Valley. More details of the theme park has since been released, to the joy of eager Studio Ghibli fans.

One of the new attractions announced is the Totoro playroom, which will be part of Ghibli’s Giant Warehouse. A released illustration revealed that visitors can expect to see Mei and Satsuki’s house, the sacred camphor tree and the iconic Catbus — essentially it's a play area for children and families. This playroom differs from the larger reconstructions of My Neighbour Totoro scenes in the Dondoko Forest.

In addition to the garden ruins from Laputa: Castle In The Sky and the home of Arrietty, Ghibli’s Giant Warehouse will also welcome a 6.3-metre long replica of an airship from Laputa: Castle In The Sky.
