Studio Ghibli has released a whopping 950 images from its films for you to use as you please
Earlier this year, when the coronavirus first struck, many businesses were crippled. As we practised social distancing and started working around the pandemic in this “new normal", business meetings began to move online, through the use of apps like Zoom and Skype. Along with it, companies came up with a variety of video call backgrounds for workers to use, including Studio Ghibli.
Studio Ghibli is known for their animated feature films centred on the fantasy genre, such as Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro, and Kiki’s Delivery Service. These films have been a part of the childhood days of many people — or at least, you would have come across one of the films in your lifetime.
Since the pandemic struck, the renowned Japanese animation studio has released three sets of official high-resolution images on separate occasions, featuring 50 iconic scenes each from 19 of their films. This means that Studio Ghibli has released a whopping total of 950 backgrounds to choose from! Furthermore, these images are “free to use within the bounds of common sense.”
Use them as Zoom backgrounds. Use them as computer screen wallpapers. Use them for anything, really, as long as you’re using your “common sense” while doing so!
The entire Studio Ghibli’s image collection can be found here. Happy browsing!
The website is in Japanese only, but don’t worry because you can identify the films from their poster. If you have not watched any Studio Ghibli’s films, or would like to refresh your memory on the plots, you would be happy to know that Studio Ghibli’s films are on Netflix for streaming.
