Stranger Things has returned to online game Dead by Daylight.

It comes two years after DLC themed around the Netflix series was removed from the game, including the ability to buy characters Nancy, Steve and The Demogorgon.

However, thankfully the characters alongside the Hawkins Lab map came back in time for Stranger Things Day yesterday (November 6), with a trailer released too.

"We’re thrilled to renew this collaboration with Netflix, to bring back the Stranger Things Chapter, including the Underground Complex Map from the Hawkins National Laboratory, and the iconic Survivor duo composed of Nancy Wheeler, a tough aspiring journalist, and Steve Harrington, a former high school jock with a knack for finding trouble," said Mathieu Côté, publisher Behaviour's head of partnerships (via GamesRadar).

"We hope players who didn’t get to experience Stranger Things will take full advantage of this gaming experience today."

The DLC was originally moved due to the licencing deal with Netflix expiring, though fans were still able to play with the show's characters – however, they were no longer able to purchase them, and the Hawkins map was removed.

In other Stranger Things news, the first scene from season 5 has been unveiled via a tease from the season's script.

Show executive producer Shawn Levy has also clarified comments he made suggesting they could de-age the show's teenage stars amid delays to season 5 due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Asked if they would use AI, he told Deadline: "No, I kind of was surprised that one sentence I said around this topic traveled so widely. The bottom line is, we know what we're doing on this show. Our cast is brilliant.

"And these characters that the Duffers have created are so vivid. I'm not worried about everyone suiting back up and bringing them to life."

Stranger Things seasons 1-4 are now streaming worldwide on Netflix.
