Steven Ma to produce ten new movies in five years

20 Jan – Steven Ma has recently inked a deal with four film productions, revealing that he is planning to produce ten new works in five years.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor who spoke to the media at the press conference of the said strategic partnerships, stated that the main focus will be Hong Kong-made films with social welfare themes.

"These films will revolve around the livelihood of common people, with several commercial films to break even. I hope that we can survive during the industry's ice age and create more jobs," he said.

The first film under this partnership will be shot in April this year, according to the actor, and will centre on the life of a deaf person.

Asked if he would sell his property as well like what Dayo Wong did to fund his new movie, Steven laughed and said, "There is no need to do that for now. I still have my savings to do so."

He also hopes to cast good friends in his movies, including Fala Chen, Linda Chung, and Tavia Yeung.
