Steven Ma not disappointed by lack of HKFA nomination

20 Feb – Steven Ma dismissed the idea that he was disappointed that his movie, "Till We Meet Again" was not nominated at the 39th edition of the Hong Kong Film Awards.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor who spoke to the media during his appearance at the Ma Tau Wai Estate in To Kwa Wan to distribute face masks, addressed the film's failure to secure even one nomination at the said awards, saying that he had done his best.

"It's all fated. Maybe I will be able to secure nominations through my second movie. Maybe I will get a Best New Director nomination with the second one," he said.

It is noted that Steven previously expressed his desire to be nominated in the said category through his directorial debut, which was adapted from his stage play of the same name.

"Till We Meet Again", which also stars Steven and veteran actress Josephine Koo, was inspired by the actor's own struggles in understanding the meaning of life and death following his mother's death back in 1999.
