Stephy Tang: Winning Best Actress is a great encouragement

16 Mar – Hong Kong actress Stephy Tang recently described winning Best Actress for her role in "The Empty Hands" as fate.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress who appeared at the official award presentation held by the Hong Kong Film Critics Society to receive the aforementioned accolade, shared that the award is both a recognition of her acting skills and encouragement for her to do better.

"I never thought that I would get so excited about winning the award. The role was a breakthrough for me, after playing the same characters in romance dramas for a long time," she said.

When mentioned that her ex-boyfriend Alex Fong is very happy about her nomination at the Hong Kong Film Awards, Stephy said that she appreciates his support very much.

"He was with me throughout my development as an actress," she added.

Aside from Stephy, the Hong Kong Film Critics Society also awarded Sylvia Chang with the Best Director award and Japanese actor Yasuaki Kurata the Best Actor award for his role in "God of War".
