Stephy Tang and Prince Chiu called it quits on Instagram
After just dating for two years, Stephy Tang and Prince Chiu, who is a member of Taiwanese idol group Lollipop and JPM, have called it quits on Instagram last night (27 June). Tang is a Hong Kong singer and actress and is six years older than Chiu. She won the Hong Kong Film Critics Society Award for Best Actress in 2017 for her portrayal of a karate athlete in The Empty Hands, and was nominated for the same award in 2020 for her performance in My Prince Edward.
The pair admitted they were in a relationship back in August 2019 and Chiu even insinuated that he would like to get married before the age of 40.
Both of them posted a scenery photo on social media, and the pair thanked each other for the relationship and sent their well-wishes for each other. “I will keep this beautiful encounter in my box of memories, along with the dedication and concerns put into this relationship,” Chiu wrote.
Tagging Tang in the post, Chiu continued thanking everything that had happened on the journey and added that he wished her “all the best on this new journey, and all is fine.”
In return, Tang also tagged Chiu in her post, writing that “the beauty did not slip away but merely taking a break in during the journey, turning into a scene of memory.” The actress also shared that “happiness isn’t just about owning, and knowing how to part is more precious.”
Echoing Chiu’s post about starting a new journey, the actress ended her post with “A new page, a new beginning. I am thankful for the encounter, and I hope we are both doing well. Wishing you the best.”
Earlier the month, during an interview, Tang revealed that she could not meet Chiu due to the pandemic but had kept in contact via video calls. When asked if they will be tying the knot, she let on that it will have to be decided after the pandemic. “There are just too many factors that are left to the Heavens (when it comes to getting married)!” she was quoted saying.
