Stephy Tang grateful for Rising Star award

19 Jul – While she is thankful for the blessings given for her new relationship, Hong Kong actress Stephy Tang stated that she is most grateful for the congratulatory wishes she received for winning the New York Asian Film Festival Rising Star of Asia award.

As reported on On CC, the actress who accepted the award at the festival in New York last week, shared that she was nervous when she first arrived at the event, as she was accepting the award in front of foreign audiences.

"But to be the first Hong Kong artiste to win the award, it was very meaningful to me. It was very important because many people there liked the movie and encouraged me to do more different characters in future projects." she said.

Stephy also added lightheartedly that her "The Empty Hand" director, Chapman To even reminded her to be careful with the award.

"He told me not to drop and break it," she said. It is noted that Chapman's Osaka Asian Film Festival's Asia Star Award previously broke in half when wife Kristal Tin accidentally knocked it over at dinner a few hours after winning it.

When asked if boyfriend Prince Chiu has celebrated her win, Stephy responded that the singer has already congratulated her, but that they may not be celebrating due to his hectic schedule.
