Stephy Tang elated to win HK Critics' Best Actress
19 Jan – Hong Kong actress Stephy Tang is happy to be awarded 2017's Best Actress by the Hong Kong Film Critics Society.
Although her movie, "The Empty Hand" did not do well at the box office, her performance in the movie received a positive feedback not only from fans but critics alike, which enabled her to defeat other worthy contenders like Carina Lau and Teresa Mo.
"I first heard the news from [director] Chapman To. At first I didn't believe him. I thought he was joking. When I found out that it was real, I still didn't know how to react. I am just so happy," she said according to Oriental Daily.
Stephy also thanked the director for giving her a lot of trust and confidence, and the crew for their support.
"This is a great encouragement and a huge recognition," she added.
The actual awards ceremony will be announced soon.
