Stephen Chow to make "The Mermaid 2"?
29 Mar - It was reported that Stephen Chow's 2016 box office movie, "The Mermaid" may have a sequel.
As reported on Epoch Times, news of a sequel sparked recently when it was listed among new film projects registered to China's State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT).
According to the synopsis, the lead characters, as well as new ones, will accidentally fly off to outer space through an interstellar wormhole.
Based on the synopsis, both Jelly Lin Yun and Deng Chao may return for the sequel, while Kris Wu, who made a cameo in the original, will be upgraded as one of the main characters as well.
However, there is also a possibility that the whole synopsis may only be smoke and mirrors, since Stephen is known for being secretive of his film projects.
Prior to the announcement, Jelly Lin stated that she has no knowledge about a sequel, but will give her full support no matter if she will be in it or not.
