It might not be an awful lot to go on, but movie fans and critics CinemaCon event in Las Vegas have been given their first glimpse of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

According to an iO9 reporter, it was just a handful of shots, but featured Daisy Ridley’s Rey brandishing a lightsaber.

The presentation also featured a slide of the movie’s main players, minus newcoming cast-member Benicio Del Toro, and also Andy Serkis, who played Supreme Leader Snoke in ‘The Force Awakens’.

It follows the footage shown to Disney shareholders at their annual conference earlier this month, in which the briefest of scenes showed Rey handing Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker his old lightsaber, and him demanding she identify herself.

So while it’s indeed not a great deal to go on, there’s more on the way.

The Star Wars Celebration from April 13 to 16 in Orlando is expected to be when the first trailer is unleashed.

The movie, directed by Rian Johnson, is due out on December 15. Watch the announcement teaser below.
