Netflix’s one of the fan-favorite shows, Money Heist Season 5 released part 1 of its season finale on September 3, 2021. Earlier this year, Netflix had announced that the fan-favorite show has reached its climax and will be broadcasted in 2 parts. Season 5, Volume 1 left the fans heartbroken with bittersweet memories. Some fans were left with questions like, what happened to Tokyo? Is Arturo dead? What more is in store for Professor and his squad? *Spoiler warning ahead*. Recap of Money Heist season 4
Season 4 ended with Nairobi being shot. Palermo, one of the new members and one of the originators of the plan, is now all set to take up the role that was held by Berlin, the professor’s brother. Meanwhile, The Professor is discovered by Alicia, a new addition to the show and a part of the government’s side.
What happens in the first part of Money Heist Season 5?
Meanwhile, as Professor is being held captive by Alicia, Lisbon joins the squad back at the Bank of Spain and the squad tries to go ahead with their plans.
Money Heist Season 5 sees the squad go all in and at war with the military. Colonel Tamayo sends the military in to take action. On the other hand, Alicia is forced to set Sergio free because her water breaks. While the plan takes a bit of a backseat in the midseason finale, we see characters fight for their life and escape.
What happens to the characters? Who dies?
Tokyo is dead. Yes, you read it right. One of the main characters of the show, our favorite rebel girl, is dead after being shot multiple times by Gandia and the rest of the military unit. The episode starts with flashbacks of Tokyo’s life and how she joined the Professor on the Heist. Though her death sequence was built up slowly unlike that of Nairobi’s. What touched people’s hearts was that Rio got the chance to bid her on and off love interests Tokyo a final goodbye. Before giving up on death, Tokyo asks Rio not to get sad as a new life begins for him.
Arturo is critical – Arturo, one of the most hated characters on the show is in critical condition after being shot multiple times by Stockholm, his former lover. Arturo loses his pulse but is later revived and is sent to the hospital.
Gandia is dead – Yes, Gandia who also killed Nairobi loses his life when the grenades blow off from Tokyo’s chest.
What happens to Alicia?
Stuck in a complicated situation, she is forced to set Sergio free and take his help with the delivery of her child. She named the baby ‘Victoria’ to be victorious in life.
Does the midseason finale leave us on a cliffhanger situation with what happens to the rest of the squad? Will Professor be able to come up with another plan to rescue the squad and complete the Heist? Well, until the release of Volume II in December, we can only sit and assume.
