Special Award given to Dr Noor Hisham at Anugerah MeleTOP ERA 2020
21 Dec – Malaysia's Director-General of the Ministry of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah recently accepted the Special Award from Anugerah MeleTOP ERA 2020 on behalf of the medical frontliners who have been braving the COVID-19 pandemic since early this year.
Noor Hisham, who recorded a video instead of attending the event to express his thanks for the said award, stated that the efforts of battling COVID-19 do not only involve his team of doctors and nurses, but also all frontliners of every field available.
"I dedicate this award to all the frontliners who worked their hardest to ensure Malaysians are safe from this outbreak. On behalf of them, I would like to thank everybody for this award," he said.
The organisers, who usually honour those involved in the entertainment industry with the said accolade, decided to change the rules this year due to the current situation.
Another recipient of a special Hero Award was Islamic preacher-entrepreneur Ebit Lew, who has been making news throughout the year for his philanthropy.
