Sorry Fanboys, Joss Whedon Is Not Attending Comic-Con 2017

Sorry Fanboys, Joss Whedon Is Not Attending Comic-Con 2017

Sorry fanboys, but don’t expect Joss Whedon to appear during DC films Hall H presentation next month down in San Diego, California, as the director is not attending this year’s Comic-Con.

Over the weekend, London based film critic Mark Searby ran into Whedon on the street and told him he was looking forward to seeing what he would be bringing to Comic-Con next month.

However, Whedon replied: “I won’t be there. Only the second time in 20 years I won’t make it.”

The omission makes sense considering Whedon is currently overseeing additional photography in London on Warner Bros. upcoming superhero tentpole “Justice League.” Whedon is filling in for director Zack Snyder, who stepped down following a family tragedy.

Snyder and Whedon have been collaborating together for more than a month, persons with knowledge of the production tell TheWrap, and have been writing new scenes for additional photography scheduled for early summer.

The collaboration serves as Whedon’s entrance into the DC extended universe. He has also signed on to direct a standalone “Batgirl” film.
