Netflix sessions on certain Nintendo consoles are soon to become a thing of the past. Owners of Nintendo 3DS and Wii U won't be able to binge "Bridgerton" on their console as of June 2021.

Since December 31, 2020, Netflix has already removed its application from the Nintendo eShop, making it impossible for owners to download it on their Nintendo 3DS and Wii U consoles, said Engadget. For those who have already downloaded Netflix on their console, they'll be able to use it until June 30, 2021, added Nintendo in an official press release . Microsoft announced the discontinuation of "Minecraft Earth" in augmented reality for the same date, June 30, 2021.

While Netflix's audience on Nintendo systems may not be the largest, current viewers will have to adapt to this change before the fateful date, which is six months away. This end of support also applies to the following consoles: New Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS XL, New Nintendo 2DS XL, Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo 2DS and Wii U Deluxe.

By announcing the elimination of the Netflix application on these consoles, Nintendo is indirectly highlighting the absence of the streaming giant on its hit device, the Nintendo Switch, which nevertheless achieved record sales in 2020. Some experts even predict its market dominance in 2021.
