Sony quickly blocks Spider-Man: No Way Home’s leaked trailer on social media
Sony acted quickly on Sunday in an attempt to stop what seemed to be the highly anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home’s leaked trailer. The next superhero film was trending on Twitter, with some accounts sharing what seemed to be the trailer and others reacting to the ensuing uproar.
Sony did not respond to a request for comment right away. Some tweets shared the Spider-Man: No Way Home’s leaked trailer. Later, Sony took them down and accompanied them with a copyright notice.
“The media has been disabled in response to a report from the copyright owner,” the message read.
The Hollywood Reporter investigated the alleged leak and found it to be authentic. When one video was down, another was up on Twitter. Thereby, giving the studio the appearance of being in a whack-a-mole situation.
Spider-Man fans have been salivating for the first look at No Way Home. Also, theories have circulated regarding who would appear from the previous movies.
Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man alongside Zendaya as his girlfriend MJ. Also, Jacob Batalon as his best friend Ned Leeds, Marisa Tomei as his aunt May Parker, J.B. Smoove as his teacher Julius Dell, Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange/ Doctor Strange. Then, Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/ Electro (from 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2), and Alfred Molina as Otto Octavius/ Doctor Octopus (from 2004’s Spider-Man 2) according to what we know so far about the Spider-Man threequel.
Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, the previous live-action Peter Parkers, are likely to make cameo appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home, although everyone involved has denied their involvement.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is going to hit theatres on December 17th.
