Sony Pictures TV Taps PMK-BNC Exec Stacy Weitz As VP Communications

Veteran communications exec Stacy Weitz has been named vice president of communications for Sony Pictures Television. In her new role, Weitz will be responsible for representing SPT’s production and distribution activity across Latin America and Asia, and also will be responsible for internal communications at SPT.

“Stacy is an entertainment communications veteran with a track record of proven success, great insight, and very solid industry connections,” said Paula Askanas, executive vice president of communications for SPT, to whom she will report. “She is both gracious and driven, the mark of a great PR person, and will be a terrific addition to our team.”

Previously, Weitz was senior vice president of corporate communications at PMK·BNC after being promoted from vice president, a position she served in from 2011 to 2015. During her tenure, she oversaw media relations, marketing and internal communications for the agency, which is part of global marketing company Interpublic Group. In addition to developing successful business communications strategies, Weitz also created and published an award-winning internal agency publication and helped the agency earn dozens of industry awards.

Prior to PMK·BNC, Weitz served as a corporate communications executive at United Talent Agency, and also previously held positions at entertainment agencies Bender/Helper Impact and Jane Ayer PR.
