Song Zude apologises to Ruby Lin and Wallace Huo

29 May - Chinese showbiz critic Song Zude has deleted his recent posts about Ruby Lin and Wallace Huo's supposed marriage nullity, and admitted that he made a mistake about them.

As reported on Epoch Times, Song previously claimed that the couple's marriage is not legally binding, supposedly due to their failure to register their marriage before holding their wedding.

Ruby and Wallace later released a statement denying the allegation, and threatened to sue those who spread the malicious story.

On 24 May, Song deleted all his claims from his social media account and published another post, apologising to the couple for the error he made.

Song stated that his mistake came from the fact that he didn't know that marriage procedures in Taiwan are different from the mainland.

"In China, you have to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to register marriage and get your marriage certificate. But in Taiwan, couples only needed to apply the household registration, and have no need to apply for the certificate/card. It is normal for a Taiwanese couple not to have a marriage card," he explained.

He also expressed hope that the couple will forgive him for his previous posts.
