Song Yoo-jung has passed away at 26

25 Jan – South Korean actress Song Yoo-jung has recently passed away.

The news was recently confirmed by her agency, Sublime Artist, stating that the actress died on 23 January - though they made no mention as to the cause of her death.

"Song Yoo-jung was a friend of ours who always gave us joy with her bright smile, and she was a wonderful actress who acted with heated passion. Please pray for the repose of her soul so that she may rest in peace in a warm place," the agency stated, according to a report on Soompi.

Song's funeral procession will be held on 25 January, following a funeral at the Gangnam Branch of the Seoul Medical Centre.

Making her showbiz debut as a cosmetic model, Song became an actress after landing a supporting role in the MBC romantic drama, "Golden Rainbow" in 2013.

She later starred in several other television series - 2014's "Make a Wish" and 2017's "School", before finally getting a lead role in the web drama, "Dear My Name" in 2019 after signing with Sublime Artist Agency.

However, Song had not appeared in any new dramas since the said series, though she had made appearances in music videos including Standing Egg's "Friend to Lover" and iKON's "Goodbye Road".

She was 26.
