We don’t want to alarm you, but pretty much everything you’ve ever known about peaches is a lie. There’s a magical way to peel a peach in like two seconds, and once you see it, your life will change for the better. At least the part of your life that involves peaches.

In mid-July, a Twitter user in Japan shared a video of her peeling a peach using only her hands, and it quickly went viral with over 52,000 retweets and 73,000 likes. Because if there’s one thing people love, it’s a life hack.

And the way this peach is peeled is what life hack dreams are made of.

Just watch:

Incredible, right? Apparently, peeling a peach this way is an age-old trick. The Twitter user, Okada, told BuzzFeed News that she saw a tweet that said to put a peach in hot water for 20 seconds and then in cold water for five minutes before peeling it. So she tried it, but only put the peach in cold water for one minute. And voila! Magic happened.

We’re not sure if this is the PSA Okada saw, but the instructions seem pretty on point.

Once the post went viral, and after BuzzFeed tweeted the video, Twitter users started losing their damn minds. People are amazed at the ingenuity of peeling a peach the way Okada does it.

But people are also confused as to why a peach needs to be peeled in the first place.

This reminds us of the skinning watermelon video that made the internet rounds a few years back — that video has 91 million views and is equally disturbing and hypnotic to watch.

Whether you prefer your peaches and watermelons peeled or not, you have to admit that these fruit tricks are worth trying.
