Social media star Irene Kim made a surprise runway appearance at Singapore Fashion Week
What’s a Fashion Week without special star appearances on the runway. This year, we spotted model and social media star Irene Kim (@ireneisgood) opening for the Exhibit show on Saturday night (28 October).
The 29-year-old happens to be a close friend of the homegrown brand’s owner Yoyo Cao (@yoyokulala), who is also a fashion influencer. Irene Kim has been dubbed as the new face of the fashion world by many fashion publications and has amassed a million followers on Instagram.
A video of the Korean-American leading the models on the runway was published on her Instagram, with the caption “So HONORED & PROUD to open & close the incredible @exhibitstorecollection last night! Congratulations my bunny @yoyokulala you are such an inspiration and I’m excited to watch you keep growing “.

According to various reports, Kim made her debut in the international fashion world when she attended New York Fashion Week in 2014, where she stood out from the crowd because of her rainbow-hued hair. Yes, Kim is popular for having radical hair colours, her most recent being purple.
She is currently busy modelling and engaging in “influencer” duties to promote big brands such as Calvin Klein and Estée Lauder. Prior to her visit to Singapore, Kim was in Japan to model for fashion brand Sacai’s “Amazon Fashion” show.
