SNL Premiere Promo: Kate McKinnon Toasts First-Time Host Margot Robbie

To celebrate Margot Robbie‘s inaugural stint as Saturday Night Live host, cast member (and recent Emmy winner) Kate McKinnon got the Suicide Squad star into the hottest, most exclusive bash in town.

“The SNL pre-premiere pre-party,” McKinnon tells Robbie, who will emcee the proceedings in Studio 8H this Saturday night (11:30, NBC), kicking off Season 42 with musical host The Weeknd.

Of course there’s no such thing, but that doesn’t stop the Australian actress and McKinnon from getting down — complete with EDM backup — and having a little wine in one of several silly promos for the season premiere.

Other announced Season 42 hosts include Hamilton creator/star Lin-Manuel Miranda and The Girl on the Train star Emily Blunt.

SNL enters its new season without three cast members: veterans Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah and featured player Jon Rudnitsky. EP Lorne Michaels has added a trio of newbies to the Not Ready for Primetime Players: improv performer Alex Moffat, SNL writer Mikey Day and Latina impressionist/actor Melissa Villaseñor.
