’SNL’ Fans Are in Their Feelings Over Kim Kardashian Hosting

Surprise! Kim Kardashian is hosting Saturday Night Live on October 9, and while some of us cannot wait for her to (hopefully) arrive in her Met Gala outfit and do an impression of a sleep paralysis demon, the internet at large is...conflicted. By which I mean there’s a lot of backlash.

Unfortunately, SNL’s Instagram comments are pretty much filled with fans who aren’t here for the news that Kim is hosting with harsh comments like “Ewwww gross nobody wants to see Kim kardashian what are y’all thinking. Hard pass,” “Note to self, skip the Oct 9th show,” and “Please NO Kardashians.”

Meanwhile, Twitter is more of a mixed bag, with some people excited for Kim to step in as a host, and others questioning the choice. Like actress Debra Messing, who hopped on Twitter and wrote, “Why Kim Kardashian? I mean, I know she is a cultural icon, but SNL has hosts, generally, who are performers who are there to promote a film, TV show, or album launch. Am I missing something?”

(Psst: Kim is currently promoting her brand, Skims, not to mention her family’s upcoming show with Hulu.)

Meanwhile, others claimed that the episode would be the “least watched ever” (erm, gonna go ahead and claim the opposite), and that Kim Kardashian should be replaced by someone else.

Kim, meanwhile, hasn’t responded to any backlash and seems super pumped about hosting the show, writing, “OMFG no turning back now!!!! LOL I’m hosting SNL!!!!!!”

And btw, the responses to her tweet are largely positive, with lots of Kardashian fans in their all-caps feels! Anyway, it’s going down October 9, so wish Kim some good vibes, lol.
