Slick Woods has disclosed that she is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

On Wednesday, the Fenty model and former ELLE Cover Star shared a picture of herself partying with friends and sticking her tongue out, captioning the snap: 'How I feel about chemotherapy, shout out to everyone that gotta go through it.'

The 23-year-old then reportedly clarified her comments to the Instagram page, The Shade Room, disclosing that she had stage 3 melanoma (skin) cancer, which is 'spreading'.

'She says she's currently fighting for her life,' the post said.

After sharing her initial post, Woods was inundated with well-wishes from fans and friends including Empire actress Taraji P Henson who commented: 'You are already on the other side of this healthy and strong like it never happened. I adore you.'

According to the NHS, melanoma is a type of skin cancer which can spread to other organs in the body and is the fifth most common in the UK. It's usually first noticed by a new mole or an existing one that changes in shape, size or colour, become itchy or bleed.

Stages of cancer are a way of describing the size of the tumour and how far it's grown. Cancer Research UK say Stage 3 normally means 'he cancer is larger and it may have started to spread into surrounding tissues and there are cancer cells in the lymph nodes in the area'.

Woods rose to prominence after becoming a muse to Rihanna and her Fenty beauty and clothing line. The former ELLE UK cover star has starred in the singer's campaigns several times and walked in her shows - most notably, in the 2018 Savage X Fenty show, hours before she gave birth to her first child, a baby boy called Saphir.

We've reached out to Slick's team for confirmation and will continue to update this article.
