Model Slick Woods is undergoing chemotherapy to treat melanoma cancer.
The 23-year-old model, real name Simone Thompson, made reference to the medical treatment in a post on Instagram on Tuesday as she shared a photo of herself sticking out her tongue while out with her boyfriend Micky Munday and some friends.
"How I feel about chemotherapy, shout out to everyone that gotta go through it #atleastimalreadybald," she wrote in the caption.
As fans expressed their shock at the news and sent their well wishes, Slick shared a picture of a pouting child and urged her followers not to pity her, declaring, "Stop treating me like a victim."
She stopped short of sharing further details about her condition in the post, but editors at The Shade Room claim she told them she had a type of skin cancer.
"She exclusively tells us that she is battling stage 3 melanoma cancer and that the cancer is spreading. She says she’s currently fighting for her life," they wrote.
Slick has received a few supportive messages from famous friends like actress Taraji P. Henson.
"You are already on the other side of this heathy (sic) and strong like it never happened. I adore you," the Empire star commented, while Power actress La La Anthony wrote, "Love u sis (sic)".
Slick later added a picture of herself at the Savage x Fenty show in September, and wrote: "Modern day Gia without the drugs #justcrazy 'where does everyone go when they have to go' I thought I told y’all I’m not no victim."
The post appears to be referring to supermodel Gia Carangi, who died of AIDS-related complications at the age of 26 in 1986.
Representatives for Slick, who famously went into labour moments after walking the runway at Rihanna's Savage x Fenty fashion show in September, 2018, have yet to comment on the model's health issue.
