Hobbit homes aren't meant just for the sets of J.R.R. Tolkien movies anymore. They're becoming an increasingly popular option for people who want to live in a tiny eco-friendly home of their own-and they make pretty amazing off-the-grid glamping rentals, too.

One amazing hobbit pod in Setúbal, Portugal is the ultimate getaway for the adventurer. It's surrounded by lush pine woodlands and open valleys, and is located just five minutes away from Arrábida National Park and the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. Plus, the home can sleep up to three people, all for $56 a night. It may not be the most luxurious digs, but the experience is truly one of a kind.

While the pod has electricity and plumbing-there's a full bathroom and kitchenette inside-you won't have wifi, giving you just the excuse you needed to tell your boss "Sorry, you can't reach me!" The rental is off the beaten path, but you'll still have a chance to experience life in Portugal-the closest town is just a 30-minute walk away. And you can pick up some sweets at the local bakery and food at the mini grocery store.

"The pod is incredibly clean and cozy, the surrounding pine tree forest is magical, and the stunning cliffs and Atlantic Ocean are just a short walk down a dirt road," one reviewer said. "We especially loved the sunsets, and taking our showers with water heated by an antique hot water heater with a small woodstove in it. David & Marta were excellent hosts and provided us with tons of tips and information about the local area, and also brought us fresh bread, and local honey and cheeses for breakfast."

If you're heading to Portugal anytime soon, make sure to check out this Hobbit pod for the ultimate glamping experience.
