5 Jan –Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza couldn't help but feel alarmed over the floods that have devastated local buildings of her home state Pahang as she shared several photos of her former high school half-submerged in flood waters.

The songstress took to social media on 5 January to express her helplessness over the situation, stating that she would have already been out there helping out if not for the fact that she is currently in her second trimester of her second pregnancy.

"Looking at the condition of SMK Clifford, Lipis, this morning really saddened me. The school that has existed for more than a hundred years and has housed a lot of valuable treasures and history that could never be replaced is now swamped [in flood water]. The school building, the hostel, the surau, the hall, the office, gallery, fields and canteen are all submerged, only its roofs are visible," she wrote.

Siti, who is also the Vice President of the school's alumni (LOCA), also urged her followers and the public alike to donate to the emergency fund to help the school.

"I will be making a more formal announcement soon. May Allah ease this effort," she added.

Those interested to help should direct themselves to the singer's official Instagram account for more information.

More than 17,000 victims of the floods in Pahang from various districts have been moved to 242 evacuation centres following incessant heavy rain that has been going on since the New Year.

Other states that are facing similar disasters are Kelantan, Terengganu, and Johor, with the latter experiencing similar challenges as Pahang residents. Reliefs and assistance are currently underway.
