Sip ‘n’ Paint by Paintblush: Paintbrush tip to paintbrush tip-sy
Do your painting skills make you blush? Don’t blush, embrace Paintblush instead!
Paintblush is an experience-centric art jamming studio and they have just launched Singapore’s first-ever Sip ‘n’ Paint concept.
This is not your typical art class. Every 3-hour session has participants sipping a beverage of choice as they paint a picture chosen from a wide range of reference images. An experienced art instructor offers a step-by-step demonstration but you are free to follow as closely or loosely as you please.
It’s a come-as-you-are approach with everything from the paints and paintbrushes to the easels and smocks provided.

Paintblush offers 2 other packages, too. There is a 2-hour Non-Guided Art Jam (S$22) where participants paint whatever they wish.
When you register for a session., you get your own blank canvas— 16×20” for adults and 12×16” for children. Everything else you need such as acrylic paints, palette, brushes, easel and even a Paintblush apron is provided. To take your personal masterpiece away safe and sound, Paintblush will give you a carrier bag, too.
This 2-hour session with no guidance is great for painters who know what they are doing or those who simply want to enjoy the therapeutic effects of painting with no guardrails. You can leave an unfinished painting at the Paintblush studio and come back at your leisure to complete it.
The Soft Guided Art Jam (S$32) is also a 2-hour affair. Here, an instructor is present to guide you from start to end. This is perfect for painters who have some experience but need a series of tiny nudges to get them over the wall.
Don’t fret if time runs out and you are still in the zone. Paintblush lets you extend your session at $4 per 30 min or $8 per hour.
Whether or not you work in the arts or media, Paintblush’s private events are an excellent corporate bonding exercise. Some companies choose to have every member complete a part of a big picture and the final image is a composite montage reflecting the painters’ individual styles.
Paintblush’s studio has 2 spaces which can accommodate groups as small as 8 and as large as 26. They certainly aren’t static, though. If you have a function at your office, a hotel or a condo, they will happily bring everything you need to you.
Me, I’m looking forward to the Sip ‘n’ Paint. If my painting turns out less than satisfactory, I can always blame the alcohol.
