The inaugural farm-to-people festival, Sprout, is coming to the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre on 7 and 8 July.

The free-admission farmers’ market – billed as the largest of its kind in Singapore – will take place at Hall 406 from 10am to 8pm over the weekend.

Celebrating sustainable agriculture and “good honest food”, the festival – organised by Suntec Singapore – features over 55 specially curated exhibitors ranging from local farms such as Sustenir Agriculture and Citizen Farm, to speciality food vendors and restaurants such as Greendot Gourmet and The Whole Kitchen .

Visitors will be able to purchase fresh produce and farming tools at the venue, as well as learn about topics such as urban farming and how to grow food in one’s home through a range of activities across six zones – Sprout & BUY, Sprout & EAT, Sprout & COOK, Sprout & GROW, Sprout & PLAY and Sprout & LEARN.

Renowned Singapore chef Violet Oon will be there to teach visitors how to cook healthy meals through a live cooking demonstration session.

Visitors who register for the event stand a chance to win an exclusive Sprout goodie bag. For more information, go to www.visitsprout.sg.
