The Prudential Marina Bay Carnival will be transformed into a neon-lit playground from 9 March to 1 April, in a collaboration with urban lifestyle park pop-up GastroBeats.

According to a media release on Tuesday (6 Feb), visitors can look forward to activities such as LED-lit hula hoops, glow-in-the-dark renditions of hopscotch, chess, tic-tac, jenga, floor pong, Twister and paintball.

For three consecutive Sundays starting 18 March, the carnival will also feature a series of eco-craft workshops in partnership with social enterprise Terra Sg. Entitled “Sustainability Sundays at Terra Village”, programmes lined up will be hosted by several crafters, designers and upcyclists.

Fitness junkies can also join in the fun, with the “Fitness by the Bay” programme consisting of weekly mass workouts with Pure Fitness and Pure Yoga. On 31 March, the ILLUMI FEST RUN will see participants splashing about with glow-in-the-dark water.

Live entertainment by local acts such as alternative rock band Cadence and local hip-hop outfit Mediocre Haircut Crew will also take the stage from Fridays to Sundays.

“As a carnival for the people, we continue to curate interesting programmes with our partners to provide a meaningful destination for families and friends to spend quality time together. We look forward to welcoming more to come by the Carnival grounds and enjoy the accessible entertainment at Marina Bay,” said Barnabas Chia, the lead of the organising team behind the Prudential Marina Bay Carnival.

The ‘biggest’ carnival in Singapore, which opens daily from 4pm to 11pm, was officially opened on 15 December 2017 and boasts more than 40 different rides. It occupies some 25,000sqm at The Promontory and Bayfront Event Space.
