It looks like next year’s National Day Parade will be an exciting one, now that the organising committee has selected their creative director for 2018.

While there’s no official confirmation yet, Singapore socialite Paige Parker – wife to wealthy American businessman Jim Rogers – broke the news on her Instagram on Friday (1 December), along with a photo of her and filmmaker Boo Junfeng on the red carpet at the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF).

She praised the 33-year-old director of “Apprentice” before casually making the announcement.

“A thoughtful man and friend and filmmaker (and NDP director for 2018!),” said Parker. “Super proud to walk the red carpet last night with @boojunfeng.”

The duo had attended the Southeast Asian premiere of movie “Oh Lucy!” as part of the SGIFF, held at Marina Bay Sands.

Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore has reached out to the organising committee for an official confirmation. Boo has declined to comment. Boo will join other respectable Singaporean talents previously selected to take on the prestigious role.

Theatre practitioner Beatrice Chia-Richmond (2016), Selena Tan (2013) and Ivan Heng (2009) were among the creative directors for the annual national celebration. Composer Dick Lee took the role four times, in 2002, 2010, 2014 and 2015.
