Do you have what it takes to become Singapore’s first MasterChef?

The popular competitive cooking show is finally coming to Singapore and is calling for aspiring celebrity chefs to submit their online applications by 25 March via the MasterChef Singapore casting call site.

For the very first time MasterChef is coming to Singapore! And we are looking for the best, brightest and tastiest chefs that the ‘Little Red Dot’ can muster – all of whom will battle it out in the MasterChef kitchen to be crowned Singapore’s first ever MasterChef!” said the page.

A video publicising the casting call has also been making its rounds on the Internet.

There have been many different versions of the MasterChef show ever since it was created by English filmmaker Franc Roddam in 1990. The show was later revived for the BBC TV network in 2005 before it went through another revamp for the Australian audience in 2009.

It has since branched into the US and Asian versions with spin-offs such as Junior MasterChef and Celebrity MasterChef.

While this will be the TV show’s first time focusing on chefs in Singapore, it will not be the first time the world has seen Singaporean chefs take part in cook-outs on the show.

Singaporean lawyer Woo Wai Leong was the winner in the first season of MasterChef Asia, which also saw two other local contestants, Sandrian Tan and Lennard Yeong.
