Singapore celebrity couple Shane Pow and Kimberly Wang talk marriage proposals
Where’s a good place to pop the question?
Proposing overseas has become popular among Singapore couples, so it was no surprise to see celebrity pairing Shane Pow and Kimberly Wang warm up to that question during a recent interview with Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore.
The couple stars in an eight-episode romantic drama entitled “Dance with Me”, in which they act as an on-screen couple. Wang plays dance enthusiast and museum curator Tricia while Pow plays a bank officer.
Ahead of the show’s screening on Toggle on 8 February, Pow thought of the ideal destination to pop the question and decided that Colosseum in Rome would serve as the perfect backdrop for that special moment.
“It’s also a good thing to go overseas because if she rejects, nobody will know me,” said Pow jokingly.
The couple have been together for nearly two years after they met when Pow was on a two-month stint as a radio deejay at YES 933FM, which is located in the same building as that of 987FM, where Wang is also a radio deejay.
While working together might be a recipe for disaster for some couples, it’s an enjoyable ride for Pow and Wang.
“It’s convenient,” said Wang about their work situation. “We can run lines together while we’re on our way to set and we can communicate with each other about our work whenever we’re together.”
“There are also other perks, like lunch. Whenever they serve us lunch on set, we have more choices because we can share our food,” said Pow.
But working isn’t the only thing they do together, the couple also shares a love for travelling. After the shoot for “Dance With Me” was over, the duo headed to Seoul, South Korea, for a much-needed break. They even produced a fun video of the both of them dancing at various locations during their trip.
So where is the couple headed next? New York.
