Sinag Maynila 2020 postpones event due to COVID-19

12 Mar – Organisers of the Sinag Maynila 2020 recently announced that the event has been postponed until further notice.

As reported on PEP, the festival recently released a statement regarding the postponement, which read, "Sinag Maynila's distributor Solar Pictures would like to thank all of the festival's sponsors and partners for supporting the decision to postpone the festival at this time.

"The company assures the participating filmmakers, film enthusiasts, Sinag Maynila followers, and the Filipino film community that the independent filmfest will definitely be held at a more opportune time."

The indie festival was originally scheduled to be held from 17 to 24 March, and feature nearly 20 films including classics like Lino Brocka's "White Slavery" and Mar Torres' "Maalala Mo Kaya".

The documentary "The Kingmaker" revolving around Imelda Marcos was also originally slated to premiere at the event.
