It isn’t uncommon for stars to have alter egos. Beyoncé has Sasha Fierce, Michelle Chong has Barbarella and Show Luo has well, Beauty Luo. But when asked about the difficulty of cross-dressing as Beauty Luo, Luo joked that he was jealous of her.

“We are two different people. So if you have the chance to meet her, please ask her yourself. Even though she looks a lot like me, she is definitely more popular than me,” joked the 38-year-old Mandopop singer in Mandarin during a media interview.

Beauty Luo, also known as “Zhu Bi Shi (朱碧石)”, first appeared on Chinese variety show “Go Fighting!” where Luo cross-dressed and transformed from a hunk to a ‘babe’. Beauty Luo later also appeared in Show Luo’s music video “What’s Wrong!” where she can be seen dancing and singing. The video has garnered over 4 million views.

Show Luo, also known as “Xiao Zhu (小猪, literally ‘Little Pig’)” to his fans, was in Singapore to attend the ninth anniversary celebrations of his own fashion street-wear brand, STAGE Hyaline of World Singapore.

Over a hundred fans crowded outside the entrance of the store, located on level 2 at Orchard Gateway, on Sunday afternoon (13 August) to get a glimpse of Luo. Some had even started waiting a good two hours before he was scheduled to arrive, with many of them holding banners and fan boards.

Show Luo later jokingly added that Beauty Luo’s market value is higher than his and she will be a little bit too expensive to be STAGE’s ambassador.

Luo also explained the significance behind the #GotNoFears slogan used for STAGE’s clothing design. “There was a specific role that required me to shave my head. I was initially fearful, but decided to do it anyway. However, the film wasn’t filmed in the end”, he said.

When asked about his upcoming plans, Luo admitted that he does not have any upcoming album planned as of yet. “I haven’t even thought about what style or genre I want yet,” Luo said sheepishly.

He will, however, have a supporting role in upcoming Chinese science-fiction thriller film “Bleeding Steel”, where he will star alongside Jackie Chan. “Bleeding Steel” will be released in Singapore in December 2017.

Luo, who has been busy touring the past two years, was already in Singapore on Saturday (12 August), the day before the celebrations for his “Crazy World Tour 2017” concert.

The one-night only concert was held at the Resorts World Convention Centre, Resorts World Ballroom, where Luo sang a total of 40 songs across all his albums.
