Cher and Gregg Allman – nine days

Cher married musician Gregg Allman, co-founder of The Allman Brothers Band, in 1975, four days after finalising her divorce from Sonny Bono. Yet, nine days after the pair tied the knot, Cher filed for divorce – citing his heroin and liquor problems as the reason. However, a month later, they reconciled, and stayed married up until 1979 when they finalised their divorce. [Photo: Getty]

Nicolas Cage has reportedly filed for an annulment mere days into his fourth marriage.

The 55-year-old actor wed girlfriend Erika Koike on Saturday, less than a year after the pair started dating in April last year.

According to reports, he filed to annul his marriage in Las Vegas four days after the wedding took place, according to court documents obtained by Entertainment News.

Cage has previously been married three times: to Patricia Arquette (1995 to 2001), Lisa Marie Presley (2002 to 2004), and to former waitress Alice Kim (2004 to 2016).

Cage’s marriage to Koike is one of the shortest celebrity marriages to date. Formerly, this ‘accolade’ may have gone to Cher’s union with musician Gregg Allman (she filed for divorce after just nine days, although the pair reconciled for some time afterwards) or Eddie Murphy’s two-week long union with Tracey Edmond.

However, Cage’s four-day marriage does not top the list. Scroll to see which other celebrity couples quickly decided their marital union wasn’t working.
