Shop for everything Korean at Qoo10's Singles' Day fair at Suntec City
Online shopping company Qoo10 is looking beyond the Internet world for Singles’ Day 2017 with an offline event.
Called the “Korea Sale Festa”, the event sees Qoo10 teaming up with the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) to celebrate 11 November, more commonly known as Singles’ Day because of its date, 11.11.
Featuring over 20 merchants selling products such as beauty, food and fashion items from South Korea, the “Korea Sale Festa” runs from 6 to 12 November at Suntec City. Some of the merchants include Korean barbecue restaurant Togi, Koryo Mart, CNP Laboratory and AHC.
Shoppers at the pop-up event at can also make use of the new Qpay system, which allows them to pay for their purchases by using the Qoo10 app to scan a QR code at a merchant’s store. The Qpay system was launched last month ahead of Qoo10’s 10.10 shopping event.
Hyun-wook Cho, Qoo10’s country manager for Singapore, said the company’s strategy for this year was to “focus and work together with all parties – SMEs or public sector -to revive Singapore’s retail slump by boosting omni-channel platforms (online-to-offline and vice versa)”.
“We are excited to be part of the upcoming Singles’ Day buzz and would do our best to match and enable our local merchants to reach the mass during this crucial year-end sale period,” Cho said.
Aside from the “Korea Sale Festa”, Qoo10’s other Singles’ Day promotions include online offers from $1, shop and cart coupons, as well as daily free giveaways.
