Shirley Ballas warns other women: Do not have have breast implants

In the modern era, many women have felt the need to enhance their natural attributes via cosmetic surgery - but one such TV star is urging women to not follow her example.

Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas increased her A cups to double Ds after feeling she “didn’t look good enough”.

But she came to regret the surgery when the implants started to feel heavy and uncomfortable, impacting on her sleep and mental wellbeing.

Now this week the 59-year-old has decided to have her implants removed - and she has a message for other women who feel they need to go under the knife to get some self-esteem.

Speaking to The Sun, Ballas said: “Don’t think you need to have these procedures to make you look more attractive.

“For young women, if someone is making you feel bad about yourself, talk to someone. But don’t do what I did. You can’t make somebody love you, no matter what you do to yourself. You can get implants, you can get all these procedures, thinking you will be more of a woman for that person.

“But it does not make a difference. If they don’t love you, they won’t no matter what you do to your appearance. It’s learning to love yourself.”

Admitting there will always be people who will get surgery despite her advice, but she urges young women considering it to ensure they do their research fully and consider the risks involved.

The ballroom star had the four and a half hour procedure earlier in the week and was quickly released from hospital, returning home via a taxi where her mum was waiting to give her some much needed TLC.

But Strictly fans needn’t worry too much, as Ballas has been given the all clear to return to hear role for this weekend’s episodes of the dancing show.
