Shin Se-kyung donates YouTube profits to charity
1 Jan – Here's some good news from South Korea – actress Shin Se-kyung has recently donated profits from her YouTube channel to charity.
As reported on Yonhap News, the "Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung" actress shared the good news via her agency Namoo Actors, saying that the proceeds will be donated to the NGO Good Neighbors to help girls from poor families.
"It will be used to provide a "period kit" for these girls, that include a year's worth of pads, pouches, lip balm, hand cream and more," the rep stated.
Shin reportedly decided to do so after hearing about the difficulties experienced by young girls from crisis families, as a way to express her gratitude towards her subscribers.
"I hope that my donation will help young, growing girls who need a lot of support," she stated.
Her YouTube channel "sjkuksee" was launched in September 2018 and has since received more than 768,000 subscribers.
