Shaun Tam, Raymond Wong speak about Tom Hanks' coronavirus

13 Mar – Raymond Wong and Shaun Tam admitted that they were surprised over news that Hollywood legend Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

As reported on Mingpao, Raymond, who attended a promotional event of "Forensic Heroes IV" alongside his co-star, stated that it was difficult to fully prevent the coronavirus when you are working as an actor.

"My wife and I paid great attention to hygiene. For the time being, I avoid having a meal with my mother and sister, and would wear mask when I see them. It's important to do things on my own," he said.

Raymond also expressed hope that a vaccine for the virus will be found soon.

As for Shaun, the actor stated that now is the most critical moment.

"People are so used to the current lifestyle, so they started to be a little lax. A lot of us may not be sick and became careless, and this will lead to cross-infection," he said.

Asked if the pandemic has affected him, Shaun said that he would usually watch basketball with his son at this time of the year, but that the games have been suspended.

"The most important thing is to wear a mask, wash your hands frequently, and see a doctor immediately if you feel uncomfortable," he added.

Hanks recently revealed about his and wife's condition on Instagram, saying that they began to fell ill while in Australia, but did not mention how they may have contracted the virus.
