Sharon Cuneta joins "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano"

10 Nov – Sharon Cuneta is now a part of the series, "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano".

Led by actor Coco Martin, the ABS-CBN series is the longest running drama series in Philippines television with its first episode having aired in September 2015.

As reported on ABS-CBN, the actress, who spoke to the media in a virtual press conference on 9 November, stated that it was a no brainer for her to accept the offer when it came from ABS-CBN's COO Cory Vidanes.

"It was an immediate yes. It was so easy for me, in spite of the lockdown, in spite of being away from my family. My family is actually excited to see me on the show, our whole household. I am so thrilled to be part of this," she added.

Sharon also admitted that she was also interested in the project after hearing Coco Martin's pitch on the character she is going to play in the drama.

At the same time, the actress said that another reason for her saying yes was due to the fact that it was originally the work of Fernando Poe Jr.

"FPJ was my best, best friend in the business. I really wanted to be a part of this because Coco has maintained FPJ's legacy and made it shine even brighter. I am grateful to Coco for that and Tita Susan (Roces) also. This really belongs to FPJ and I am glad that I will be part of it as a tribute to him," she said.

It is noted that "Ang Probinsyano" will be Sharon's first ever teleserye with ABS-CBN.
