13 Jan – Sharon Cuneta recently expressed hope that Filipino President Rodrigo Duterte isn't serious in his statement about not renewing ABS-CBN's franchise despite the many times he had expressed his sentiment about the network.
As reported on ABS-CBN, the actress, who spoke about the issue as a supporter of the president, stated that she would like for Duterte to reconsider his decision as she has many friends who have built their career in the company.
"Everybody I grew up with here - who have remained loyal to the station and have grown up here having learned from the school of hard knocks here have become family and good friends - will lose almost everything they've built over the years," she said.
Cuneta, has also recently renewed her contract with the Kapamilya network, stated that she hopes that rather than focusing on the top management, the president will consider the thousands of people who are part of the company, herself included.
Although the actress herself is married to Duterte's staunch critic, Senator Francis Pangilinan, it is noted that the president always has a soft spot for her, confessing himself to be a "Sharonian".
