Sharon Cuneta blasts critics for calling her "plastic"
7 Sep – Sharon Cuneta recently blasted a critic online for accusing her and Kris Aquino of pretending to be friends.
As reported on PEP, the incident sparked recently when Cuneta shared photos of a balloon arrangement sent by Aquino, who wanted to express her gratitude for Cuneta's kind words about her performance in "Crazy Rich Asians".
The photos include cards from Aquino, one of them that read, "Ate S, my forever gratitude is yours for the generous kindness and infinitely valuable insights you have shared with me. Thank you for taking me under your wing and giving me the protective shield of a loving [sister]."
In response, Cuneta wrote back to Aquino, saying, "Make the most of your vacation and rest well, because there is like a ton of blessings waiting for your attention when you come home! Lots of love always!"
However, some netizens questioned the sincerity behind the two stars, with one commented, "Orocan at its finest", referring to the Filipino brand that produces plastic storage containers.
Another netizen replied to the comment, saying that "Tupperware" is the better word for it as it is more "durable" - implying that the relationship between both parties are "plastic".
To that, Cuneta responded to one of the commenters, saying that his or her attitude is the opposite of what his or her profile said about "more love less hate".
"Haters and bullies will be blocked. More love less hate. This is what your profile says. And yet you encourage the latter by implying [we are plastic] to each other? Please be kind. We haven't done anything to you to deserve that," wrote Cuneta.
It is noted, however, that this is not the first time Cuneta and Aquino were accused of being insincere in their kindness towards each other, although both parties have always denied any conflict between them.
