Sharon Cuneta appeared on GMA-7 show to surprise Rhea Santos
7 Aug – Sharon Cuneta says that she has no issues appearing on a Kapuso show as she is not interested in the network wars between GMA-7 and ABS-CBN.
As reported on PEP, the actress, who made a surprise visit on GMA's show "Wish Ko Lang!" to bid farewell to its host, Rhea Santos before she migrates to Canada with her family, shared about her appearance on the show on social media.
She wrote, "Thanks to Vicky Morales, I was able to surprise Rhea Santos on Wish Ko Lang before she and her beautiful family left for Canada for good. We will miss you, Rhea!"
"Though I am a Kapamilya, I refuse to be a part of the Network Wars. All stations, especially GMA, have helped me to become what I have in my career. And I was a Kapuso for a long time in my younger years, and so I have a loving family there too! Lots of love always."
It is noted that Cuneta used to host GMA-7's noontime show, "GMA Supershow" from 1979 to 1985. She moved to ABS-CBN in 1988 and has stayed with the network until 2012, before signing with TV5.
She had since returned to the Kapamilya network.
"Wish Ko Lang!" decided to surprise Santos with Cuneta's appearance recently since the newscaster has always regarded the singer as her idol.
