Shake Shack is testing all Singaporeans’ spice tolerance with their newest Sambal Mayo Menu. As chilli lovers, will Singaporeans find the burger spicy?
From 1 June to 15 August 2022, the US fast food chain will be debuting their first ever Singapore-inspired menu which will be available island-wide.
Three new dishes will be launched, all of which feature a rich and spicy sambal sauce exclusively created by locally renowned Chef Jeremy Nguee, who is from Batu Lesung Spice Company.
The Sambal Mayo Burger (S$12.50 for Single, S$16.20 for Double) features Shake Shack’s classic Angus beef patty smothered with the limited-edition sambal mayo and topped with usual nasi lemak ingredients like fresh cucumbers, a fried sunny-side up egg, and crispy fried ShackMeister onions. Everything is then sandwiched within their trademark fluffy potato bun.
The Sambal Mayo Chicken Shack (S$12.50) has crispy dark meat chicken as its patty, with fresh cabbage slaw and crunchy cucumber slices piled on top of it.
The slaw is seasoned with a tangy cilantro, lime and fish sauce, and the crunch of the vegetables complementing the juicy patty will give one a satisfactory bite.
The same savoury sambal mayo is drizzled all over, and the delicious concoction is then slotted into a toasted potato bun.
Sambal Mayo Fries (S$7.90) is a spicy twist on the classic crinkle-cut fries. Garnished with Batu Lesung Spice Sambal Mayo, savoury bacon bits and scallions, this will definitely be a good drink-pairing finger food.
The shack’s mission to Stand for Something Good® can be seen in their partnering with local enterprises like Batu Lesung Spice Company, to support the community in Singapore.
Will this burger be able to challenge the famous McSpicy? Hurry and head down to any of their eight outlets to try the new sambal mayo series to judge for yourself.
