To the Hollywood elite, industry professionals, and major film fans, the Oscars are taken very seriously. To mostly everyone else, they’re just another awards show that honors celebrities, filmmakers, and everyone in between for being really, really good at their jobs. Which is why Seth Meyers made a hilarious mini-movie pretentious enough to sweep the Oscars.

We’re all about the movies, the fashion, the history, and the entertainment of Oscar night, but we also recognize that awards shows don’t need to be taken SO seriously. And Meyers clearly recognizes that as well.

On Late Night with Seth Meyers this week, Meyers unveiled a brand new trailer for a movie that the Academy will absolutely fall in love with. Starring Meyers as…well…the star, Oscar Bait will obviously beat out La La Land and win every award ever. According to the trailer, the Los Angeles Times referred to the tear-jerker as “The most blatant attempt to win an Oscar since The King’s Speech.”

Oscar Bait is “shamelessly timed for award season.”

The movie covers all the Oscar requirements: racial tension, blatant homosexuality, a man staring at trains, and overcoming a rare disease (balloon foot).

With way more crying and snot than Manchester by the Sea, Loving, Hidden Figures, Fences, Arrival, Lion, Hell or High Water, Moonlight, and Hacksaw Ridge combined, Oscar Bait is sure to win Best Picture.

The movie is obviously a huge joke — and a good one at that. But we have to admit, it’s definitely a movie parody we’d watch.

Take a look at the full trailer:

The 89th Academy Awards air on Sunday, February 26th at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT. The show is being hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, so we’re obviously in for a good ol’ time.
