Series two of 'The Mandalorian' won't be delayed by coronavirus pandemic, confirms Disney boss
The boss of Disney has confirmed that the second series of Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian will not be held up by the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.
In an interview with CNBC, CEO Bob Chapek explained that it has only been projects that were in the midst of shooting which have been affected.
“We have a certain amount of inventory, particularly for Disney+, which is fuelling the machine,” he said. “It's important to note though that pre-production, the development phase, can still happen during these times of lockdown, and post-production still happens.

“So it's only films that are mid-stream, right in the middle of production. Take for example Mandalorian. Mandalorian was shot before COVID really hit.
“And so we’ve been in post, and there will be no delay on Mandalorian. Same thing with Black Widow, which is coming out in November.”
The second series of the Disney+ flagship show just managed to get in under the wire, completing its shoot in early March, prior to the worldwide lockdown.
It's thought that it will hit Disney+ in October.

Last week, it was confirmed that both Ant-Man director Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez directed episodes of this new series, which will also boast new cast members.
Aliens and Terminator star Michael Biehn and Rosario Dawson will be on the bill, along with Kiwi actor Temuera Morrison.
It's rumoured that Morrison could potentially be playing feted bounty hunter and original Mandalorian Boba Fett in the second series.
