Game maker Sega announced on Friday (7 May) that action-adventure game Lost Judgment is scheduled for release on 24 September 2021 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One. Lost Judgment is the second of the Judgment game series, which made its debut worldwide in 2019.
The single-player role-playing game follows lawyer-turned-detective Takayuki Yagami, or Tak for short. Tak is a computer-generated character modelled after the facial features of Japanese actor-singer Takuya Kimura. Kimura also voice-acts in Japanese — the English version is voiced by Greg Chun — for the character, who investigates mysterious murder cases.
Set in Yokohama, Lost Judgment begins with a murder trial that leads to the discovery of a strange death. Tak gets involved to investigate the truth behind everything, but is instead caught up in a bigger, unpredictable mystery.
“In the previous work, I solved the case using gifted reasoning power and through dynamic action scenes. But in the sequel, these will be even more enhanced,” Kimura said during the game announcement event. “The sequel not only has a highly suspenseful story like the previous work, but there is also a drama set in high school, adding variety to the gameplay.”
Kimura added that even if you did not play the first game, you will still be able to enjoy the content of Lost Judgment.
